- FOUNDATION used to mean hiding your face...today its more to enhance
the natural skin tone than hiding it. There's tinted moisturizer light
weight and gives you an even skin complexion which is why we call it 'no
make up, make up' But we always need to apply the base or what ever you
put on the skin half way through the day will melt, flake and look
horrible...all your hard work in the morning gone (always makes me mad),
so if you don't have one go get a primer you wont regret it :) PRODUCT
TIP: NYX
amazing make up, great product, goes on amazing & best of
all...IN-EXPENSIVE :)..can find them at London drugs.. or make up
stores. How do you know if you have a good foundation? it goes on
smoothly and hopefully stays put(the primer will help that)
-Choosing a foundation ... although a good foundation is expensive think
of it as an investment. Dick Page once said "when it comes to
foundations buying a cheap and cheerful product is often a false
economy. You will get more for your money if you stick to a top end
product from say Lancome
or Lauder" To make the best decision and make it easier on your self,
cause lets face it there is so many foundations out there that all are
different in there own way it can get confusing.. so first step know
your skin type. Make sure you choose the RIGHT color.....DON'T CHOOSE A
COLOR TO DARK CAUSE IT WONT MAKE YOU LOOK TANNED..AND you wont get the
'no make up, make up' look....make it a rule for yourself to match the
skin color around your neck as perfect as you can!! Follow these rules
you'll be fine ..
1) never make a color decision in artificial light, which is often very
deceptive --the foundation can look totally totally wrong in daylight!
2) avoid choosing a foundation that is dark enough to look like a suntan.
3) never try and make yellow-toned skin look pinker by using a pink-based foundation, or vice versa.
4) choose a foundation that matches the skin tone and then let color cosmetics do the work afterwards.
5) allow a test color to sit on your skin for a few minutes before
purchasing it. The acid balance of your skin may affect the color.
6) The best way to apply foundation is the most basic - use your
fingertips. This way you can reach the parts that other tools cannot
reach (unless you are a professional make up artist) and most
importantly, learn to blend, blend, blend.
7) there are no rules about where to apply foundation, just apply it
where you feel it is needed and then blend it in carefully..(don't need to apply it all over your skin)
8) always use a moisturizer that is specially formulated for your skin
type before application to help prime the skin, applying foundation
directly onto the skin will give you a patchy finish.
